HALO JEMBER - Anjasmoro Waterfall is a natural destination in Juroju Hamlet, Sumbersalak Village, Ledokombo District, Jember Regency. Offers a view of a cascading waterfall flowing between large rocks, creating a natural atmosphere. Around the area, there are several natural springs, including the well-known Kencana Wungu Spring with its clear and fresh water. Tall bamboo trees and green farmland also surround the waterfall.

Anjasmoro Waterfall offers a peaceful, affordable, and refreshing travel experience. Its natural atmosphere is what makes this destination special. Surrounded by forest beauty, the sound of flowing water, and local stories that give the place character, it’s a perfect destination for anyone who wants to enjoy the natural side of Jember. “The name 'Anjasmoro' comes from a local legend, which makes the place more interesting for visitors,” said Iwan, the head of Pokdarwis (a tourism-focused business unit managed by the village government) in Sumbersalak Village.

The main attraction of Anjasmoro Waterfall is its stunning waterfall view. Water flows strongly from a height, surrounded by green cliffs and tall trees that create a refreshing atmosphere. It’s a great place for people who want to relax, enjoy nature, or take nice photos. Around the waterfall, there are also some natural springs where visitors can swim or play in the water. The area is still very natural, which makes it perfect for anyone who wants to enjoy quiet moments and feel closer to nature.

Facilities around Anjasmoro Waterfall are now very limited. There is no official management at the site anymore, so visitors don’t need to pay an entrance fee. “Since the pandemic, the number of visitors has decreased, so now there is no official management,” explained Iwan. However, if visitors come by motorbike, they can park it at a local resident’s house for around Rp2,000. Unfortunately, there are no food stalls or sellers near the waterfall now. Because of that, it’s strongly recommended that visitors bring their own food or drinks from home, especially if they plan to spend a lot of time at the location.

To get to Anjasmoro Waterfall, visitors need to travel for about one hour from the center of Jember. The main road to the waterfall is already in good condition, the route goes through Jember, Ledokombo, and then Sumbersalak. After passing the railway tracks in Sumbersalak Village, visitors will find a parking area that is managed by the local community. From there, they need to continue the trip on foot for around 10 to 15 minutes along a small path surrounded by forest and local farms. The trail is safe to walk on, but it is still recommended to wear comfortable, non-slip footwear.

The opening hours of Anjasmoro Waterfall are not officially set, but the best time to visit is from morning until late afternoon. It’s recommended to arrive before 4:00 PM so that visitors still have enough daylight and can enjoy the surroundings comfortably. Visiting earlier in the day also helps avoid walking through the forest path when it starts to get dark.

Before visiting Anjasmoro Waterfall, make sure to wear comfortable and non-slip shoes, as the walking path to the waterfall can be slippery, especially after rain. Bring enough food and drinking water from home, as there are no food stalls or vendors in the destination. It’s also a good idea to bring a change of clothes if you plan to swim or play in the water. Try to visit in the morning or early afternoon to avoid walking through the forest at night. Lastly, don’t forget to keep the area clean and natural.

There are many activities to enjoy at Anjasmoro Waterfall. Visitors can swim in the natural pool under the waterfall, play in the clear spring water nearby, or go fishing in the river. The area is also popular among young travellers for taking photos because of its beautiful scenery. For those who enjoy adventure, light camping around the waterfall is also a fun option, even though supporting facilities are still very limited.

There are a few important things that visitors should remember before and during a trip to Anjasmoro Waterfall. First, it’s important to bring food and drinking water from home, because there are no food stalls near the waterfall. Second, wearing the right shoes is important, as the path can get slippery, especially when it rains. Third, always keep the area clean by not throwing trash on the ground. Taking care of nature helps protect the beauty of the waterfall for everyone to enjoy.
